Join Rick Hafele & John Smeraglio, instructors in the DVD’s “Fly Fishing Large Western Rivers”, “Nymph Fishing Basics”, and the newly released “Advanced Nymph Fishing”,  for a special workshop for anglers of all skill levels on the Deschutes River.

Through a combination of slide shows, and stream side instruction, you will learn how to select effective fly patterns, understand trout and insect behavior, and how to effectively fish nymphs, wets, and dry flies.

The workshop starts Saturday afternoon with a slide show and an open discussion on some keys to fishing western rivers.
Dinner is hosted by Rick & John, to follow starting between 5 and 6 PM.
Sunday begins with breakfast, and a detailed slide presentation on the life cycles of aquatic insects, learning to recognize them, and matching them with artificial patterns.
After lunch, you will spend the afternoon on the Deschutes River learning first hand how to select the correct flies, from the insects you’ve collected, and how to properly present them.
 
Combined, Rick and John have over 50 years experience in fly fishing and instruction. This is an unique opportunity to pick their brains, and answer some of the mysteries of fishing for stubborn trout.

 Through a
combination of slide shows, and lake side instruction, you will learn how to select effective fly patterns, understand trout and insect behavior, and how to effectively fish nymphs, wets, and dry flies.

On Saturday we will meet at Wild Winds Ranch between 12 & 1 PM to get settled in and them some fishing before we start.

The workshop starts with a Saturday night dinner hosted by Wild Winds Ranch, followed by a slide show and an open discussion with Rick and John on some key issues and strategies on fishing lakes.
